Welcome to Lux Pain
Mysterious and horrific crimes plague Kisaragi City. The Silent worm, born through hate and sadness, has infected the city and forced citizens to commit crimes. Atsuki's parents are victims of Silent. To avenge them, he acquires the power of Lux Pain to seek and destroy Silent for good, and joins other members of FORT to help restore Kisaragi City to a peaceful city once again.
Further Description
The storyline of Lux Pain is quite simple: playing as Atsuki Saijo, a young Fort member, you go throughout the city of Kisaragi and help destroy the mental parasite known as Silent. Throughout the course of the game, you go through all seven areas that divide Kisaragi. You meet people along the way, such as students from Kisaragi Academy, and other adults from around the city. As you discover new people and places, Nola directs you to where you're supposed to go. With the help of both Nola and Natsuki, you are lead to different people around Kisaragi that are infected with Silent. You can also discover Residual Shinen on items, like statues and paintings, and some are just a part of the scenery, such as a sidewalk or a flower. There are two main infectees that you are working to get through the end of game, but along the way you discover certain types of Silent and battle their embodiments. Once you finally finish the game, you can replay and get different endings, though after you finish the first game it's harder to get the full ending again (click here to see the endings).
Once you finish the first game, you can continue on on that game's saved slot -- if you choose to do that, a red star will be added above the game's slot's name to signify you've already played through it once. And even after you play it once, it never gets boring. I'm not one to replay games, but I've played Lux Pain three times already.
